These reports are used all day by the company’s sales representatives as they travel between regional outlets, customers and suppliers. Having access to this data quickly via a tablet/mobile phone meant spending less time at a desk and could ensure that they have up-to-date information during their meetings. It has therefore greatly increased the time the sales reps can spend out on the road and positively impacted on the deals they are making. Their managers can also monitor during the day what the sales reps are up to and provide better guidance. View full review »

For example, with our analyses, the medical experts could improve healthcare and services at the regions where the child mortality was high. View full review »

Users can create their own ad hoc analyses and reports, so that's definitely a big plus. Also, another way its improved our functioning is the speed that it gives us to provide solutions to the customer. That's important to our company so that we can meet contract requirements, particularly ones that are time sensitive. View full review »

With a wide array of internal customers, OBIEE has helped us provide a many-to-one Business Intelligence relationship. By transforming the company’s performance data into various dashboard perspectives, each information consumer can select a customized dashboard view. The result is to empower the business user to ‘self-serve’ some of their regular and most important reporting needs. This reduces the amount of noisy communication between the business and OBIEE power users within the company. It increases the speed of analysis, and it provides an unwavering consistency across the dashboards and downloaded reports. View full review »

For advanced users, they can build their own custom reports. You can actually create a custom dashboard for your upper management, and for your middle management. You can provide required reports at all levels of management for decision making. You can get data from different systems into it. It works well with other products, where you can bring in data, and then project it. It's got a very good ETL process, which makes it easy for you to bring in data. View full review »

With a good model implemented, businesses can easily take decisions to improve anything they want. An example I like to give is a retail company for which we developed online BI for sales. With this model, the managers follow the sales in real-time and can make decision like when, how much, and where to start a sales campaign during the day. This helps all managers to fulfill their quotas easily. View full review »

Oracle BIEE Consultant at a tech consulting company with 1,001-5,000 employees
The company I was assigned to is a utilities company, so they heavily rely on daily reports to monitor the situation. Customer feedback is very crucial to them. Working both as their business analyst and developer, I get to communicate with the people responsible for reporting to top management. Based on their feedback, some are able to see if pending items have been delivered and if not, they can easily identify which group to go to. This assures that their customers are satisfied with the service. Some have also said that with the reports readily available via OBIEE, they can immediately download and present them to their bosses. No more use of spreadsheets to compute for the KPIs. It is beneficial for us because most of our reports are on OBIEE. It's not only for data analysis. We use it for corporate year-end financial purposes as well. We use it for the backlog management, for example, to check how much is the backlog or how much is the shipment amount and for similar kind of data. We are using OBIEE for such purposes. We are into the Oracle Supply Chain which involves the process from auto-booking to shipment. They bring the data from Oracle apps to Oracle Arch Work. There is a middle layer which is called ODS. From ODS, they put the data in the OBIEE product. From there, the IT teams create all the attributes, we bag them there and in this way, we can generate our own reports. That is how we have been using this product. It is useful for us especially for the quarter-end data analysis or to improve any metrics; in this way, we use OBIEE for data analysis purpose. How it benefits the organization is that we use it for a wide variety of things; we use it for billing and we use it for finance. We use it for so many of the regular basic daily use cases. We send data to our customers based on that. They review what we send and make decisions based on that. We do our billing with it, so that's the main aspect. View full review »

Sales people have a different kind of mindset and they want to see different varieties of reports. If somebody wants to see data by store, or by store in a particular ad, and their district managers want to see something with the region specifically, OBIEE can provide them that detailed data. Also, through BI Answers, we can get data that's time-specific, holiday-specific, weekday-specific, or weekend-specific. We can easily configure and manage pretty much any metric we want across our retail business. View full review »

Having up-to-date, current data for the executives and the managers that make decisions allows them to make more accurate decisions and helps us leverage our business. It's an advantage. It allows our management teams to make the right decisions with the right data. It provides our reporting visually. Some people like to see the bar charts versus the numbers and they like to see a trend. It's easy for them to read and to use. View full review »

I like the ability of the portfolio managers and schedulers to pull data in very easily and report out. This is the critical feature that we needed. This was the reason why we purchased it. You can configure what you need and make it look the way you want it to. The screens are set up in an excellent way. This solution has had a huge impact agency wide. To reference the initial project setup structure for Oracle Projects and Oracle Portfolios- We need the ability to create layers and structure for projects. For example, Program Number, Project Number and Sub Project Number in a hierarchical structure that rolls up summary budgets for Programs and Projects for financial reporting. Also, each Program, Project and Sub Project may have a different name associated with it for tracking employee time entry. Portfolios are tracked by Sponsor’s name. View full review »
