What is most valuable?

Oracle has always been known for its finance modules and that is definitely a valuable feature. From the back-end, Oracle has been the leader forever. Also from a functional perspective, it provides… more »

What needs improvement?

Oracle has always had one drawback and that is that it's not as user friendly as it's competitors, whether from the database perspective or switching from SAP to Oracle. The amount of administrative… more »

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing costs for E-business Suite depends upon what modules you're using, the number of users, core database components and things like that. I believe we pay around USD $100,000 annually… more »

What other advice do I have?

For someone who has never used Oracle, I would tell them that it's not a user-friendly application, so it takes time to get your head around it. On top of that, Oracle is mostly done in Linux and Unix… more »

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I briefly thought about evaluation other options, but it didn't happen because I'd already had some experience with Oracle.

What is most valuable?

As we have been using this for the past nine years we have had the opportunity to explore the product. Really everything has worked well and all the modules are very good. The financial parts are very good, the sales part is also very good, the maintenance of our supply-chain is meeting our… more »

What needs improvement?

After the announcement of the cloud products, the on-premises products from Oracle are not garnering as much development attention. Some of the new features that used to come to us earlier before the cloud product are now coming at a slow pace. So we want Oracle to work on the on-premises product in… more »

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were using another product nine or ten years ago. It was a very old product made by IBM. That was AS/400.

What other advice do I have?

The advice that I would give to others who want to start using this product is that, in this day and age, you need to first evaluate different products. At the very least you would want to compare the E-Business Suite with the other Oracle cloud products. On a scale from one to ten where one is the… more »

What is most valuable?

The most valuable aspect of the solution is the employee self-service. The order management is excellent.

How has it helped my organization?

The solution has helped the organization in a multitude of ways. For example, it has really helped with the way we manage retail orders. The automation of retail and dealer order management has helped us a lot. It is one big use case that's… more »

What needs improvement?

I would say the integration needs improvement. Oracle needs to work on the integration layer to make the solution much more robust and modern. The solution needs full cloud netting.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

When I joined, the company was on a previous version of Oracle. One of the first tasks I handled when I joined I was to head up the upgrade project. It's a solution that's been used from the beginning, or, at least that's my understanding.

What other advice do I have?

Our relationship with Oracle is simplly one of supplier-customer relations. This solution is deployed in our organization on credit in two sides active-active. What I would tell other companies considering the solution is this: first, they… more »

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature in E-Business Suite is the ability to have one source of the truth when it comes to data. This allows for decisions to be made in different disciplines but use the same data. Powerful.

How has it helped my organization?

I have seen companies that were making decisions based on excel spreadsheets move to making management decisions off the system data. Proper transformation through having a tier one ERP solution in place.

What needs improvement?

I think the capability for deployment is not great when you get out of financials. That is, when you get to the edge products around the E-Business core, I think that needs improvement. For example, if you are in manufacturing and the core focus of your work is financial procurement and HR, I think… more »

What other advice do I have?

On a scale from one to ten there one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate Oracle E-Business Suite as an eight-out-of-ten. I would recommend E-Business Suite to others who are looking into implementing it and sometimes do.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is its flexibility. You can create a lot of modeling solutions for a single activity. Many different approaches can be used to solve the same problem, so it is not rigid. Any time we have a group discussing solutions, I am happy because if a person has a different view then… more »

What needs improvement?

The reporting needs to be improved. I think that there are times when you have to build too many custom reports in order to achieve what you want. This comes out of the fact that it is so flexible because if you don't go by the standard, in terms of the implementation you choose, then it means that… more »

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Over time, I have used several versions of this same product.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for anybody who is considering this solution is not to go with Oracle if you don't have much knowledge about it. In other words, don't buy the system based on the presentation by the marketing team. It is a very good system and I attest to it, but you need to have some personal experience… more »

What is most valuable?

The database is feature rich, no doubt. It is also a a tool that can easily connect an entire company. From this, you can build any BI orders. The reporting solution is good and it has a good database that connects with everything.

How has it helped my organization?

It has improved the way we worked. Everything is now on a very well-centered database. Before, we would have things saved on Excel, but it would be on different versions, or someone would have it saved on e-mail, and it would not be saved… more »

What needs improvement?

The UI interface is not good. In addition, there is a constant challenge that new things are evolving and people are looking at new ways of connecting. They do not want to log into web interfaces. And, the standard UI does not give you… more »

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost is high for this product.

What other advice do I have?

When deciding on a solution, I suggest looking at the vendor, the stabiliy of the product and the tech support provisions. A business has to run smoothly, and the solution has to help ease that process.
