Easy to use with good integration capabilities and excellent at streamlining protocols

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for payroll, HR, recruiting, and onboarding.

Pros and Cons

  • "The solution has improved our organization by helping us cut hours and lessen our labor force. It saved us probably over $100,000 in just the last couple of years."
  • "The solution could use better reporting with standard reports. We use the Cognos platform in BI for a lot of our reporting. However, they need to have more robust standard reporting available to their user base."

What other advice do I have?

We're simply customers. We're not resellers of the solution, and we don't have a partnership with the company. We take a client who's moving off of ADP, for example, on to UltiPro, and we act as a liaison. We get very in-depth and build a relationship with their project manager, their systems consultant, technical consultant, time and attendance, etc. We're very involved with the solution and have a lot of contacts at the company. We just don't have a pure partner profile with them. They know who we are, they know what we do, however, I'm not willing to sign up to be a partner with them due to…

Scalable and useful for our HR and payroll needs, but all pieces don't have the same foundation and don't work together smoothly

What is our primary use case?

We use it for employee maintenance, and we run the payroll on the same software. We also use it for time and attendance. We got it in 2019, and it is a SaaS solution, so we do get the upgrades. We should be on the same version as everybody else.

Pros and Cons

  • "The employee self-service feature is most valuable. This is the restaurant industry, and they have a mobile app that allows employees to go in and manage their data. So, employees can manage direct deposit accounts, emergency contacts, and other things in the app. That's definitely the biggest benefit."
  • "Certainly, the time and attendance and the payroll integration need a lot of work. They are disjointed pieces, and they don't work smoothly together. That's the main drawback."

What other advice do I have?

I would advise giving yourself a lot of time to do the foundational work. That's what we did, and that's why it took two years. It is very hard to change anything going forward if you get the foundation wrong. I would rate UKG a six out of 10. It does have vast room for improvement, mainly because it is not one system built on the same foundation. It has multiple disjointed pieces, and they do not work together smoothly.
