We use this solution for our entire business management. Order to Cash for Manufacturing.
How has it helped my organization?
SAP has provided a much more integrated platform for managing our manufacturing business.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features for us are:
- Demand Planning: automated creation of supply requisitions for raw materials based on sales demand.
- EDI: automated sales order processing and advanced shipment notifications.
- MRP: Fully integrated with preventive and reactionary maintenance system to assist in scheduling work orders. Automated load balancing based on available resources (man & machine).
- Invoicing: Automated invoicing based on shipped orders, with invoices emailed to customers automatically.
What needs improvement?
This solution could be made more user-friendly for development teams.
Many legacy carryovers that are still in the original language (German). Configurations would be much easier if we didn't need a translator.
