Veeam Backup & Replication Review

It's easy to restore from a backup and, as it's an OS-aware solution, I can also recover deleted objects to Active Directory.


What is most valuable?

As a backup solution, the de-duplication and direct-to-tape functions are very valuable. It also has WAN acceleration, though I've yet to use that feature.

How has it helped my organization?

  • In various ways, we are using an Active Directory OS-aware backup, and I can recover deleted objects to AD.
  • When I need to duplicate a machine for test purposes, it is very easy to restore from a backup.

What needs improvement?

Managing snapshots during the backup.

I've used it for two years.

I was using a VMware built-in backup solution, but it wasn't at all friendly to operate.

It is straightforward and very easy.

The price is higher than other similar products.

Only a VMware backup solution.

What other advice do I have?

Go ahead, it is a very good choice and will give you peace of mind. I've found that it's the best backup solution for a virtual infrastructure.
