What is most valuable?

Database performance monitoring, dashboards, databases management and Dataguard setup and monitoring are the features that I like the most. BI Publisher is another cool feature to generate customized reports.

How has it helped my organization?

We have 200+ databases and monitoring that number of databases without using a enterprise tool would involve a tremendous amount of manual work. Furthermore, early notification about databases and operating system alerts helps our DBA team in... more»

What do you think of CA Unified Infrastructure Management?

Making IT Monitoring a Snap with CA Nimsoft Monitor Snap Snap can be used in a wide variety of monitoring situations, such as to track servers, virtual machines, applications, databases, network and storage devices. We tested version 7.1 of Snap on a network where it quickly discovered our Windows, Mac and Linux machines in February 2014. It is free and fully functional to monitor up to 30 devices, with a paid version for larger networks.

Senior Network Capacity Planner at a tech services company with 1,001-5,000 employees

What is most valuable?

It's given us the ability to create various real-time network performance reports and distribute them to any colleague who can access these reports immediately. They can access them any time without needing their own user account to the system.

How has it helped my organization?

* SevOne threshold monitoring alerts help to improve our network monitoring. * Procedures in troubleshooting were built on predefined SevOne reports.

What needs improvement?

Single device-based baseline monitoring works well in SevOne, but sometimes device independent base-lining in redundant network environments. Software upgrades can be tricky is not easy.

What do you think of Avada Software Infrared360?

Improvements to My Organization The ability for development teams to have access to their MQ queues has freed us up as administrators to do things other than chase down an application’s message for research purposes. • Valuable Features - Monitoring that ties into our incident management system - Visibility of the MQ environment to non-MQ personnel • Room for Improvement The UI can be cumbersome - but we are still using the Viper interface and we have not had the time to check out the Alloy interface which is supposed to be much improved. • Stability Issues Not really, other than minor memory leaks. But a monthly cycling of the server is usually all that is required (which we have to do for patching anyways). • Scalability Issues We have not really pushed the...

What is most valuable?

I see the biggest features of EM7 is that it is can cover a lot of different products very quickly and without a ton of effort. In my book, the second biggest feature is the company behind the product, they generally respond quickly to issues... more»

How has it helped my organization?

We can approach many different solutions without a ton of lift on developers which helps us a great deal. We still need to put time into tuning what is in the defaults, but we can get up and running in short order using EM7.

What needs improvement?

Reporting is still a gigantic pain point, we invest a lot of cycles in manufacturing reports off-board -#notfun. While EM7 covers a lot of ground quickly and is capable of consuming enormous amounts of event and performance data, EM7... more»

What is most valuable?

The overall valuable feature is the integration that exists. It really ties everything together to see the entire stack. Individually, the main focus of each component is the value. * Being able to see your devices * Monitoring the components... more»

How has it helped my organization?

The best example would be that we can provide transparency to the infrastructure which is meaningful to developers, but even to business users. Our IT teams can work with developers using a common reference when reviewing issues or planning... more»

The nice thing about SolarWinds is that the company always looks to improve their products. Since they regularly update the software for stability and new features, it’s not easy to pinpoint items to improve unless they directly impact... more»
