Enables us to define the business process and integrate it with other software

What is our primary use case?

Our customer is usually a government organization (who works for a confidential employer), and I work with the job center department of the government, the region of the government of Galicia, Spain. They use this product to define services relating to the unemployment problem. For example, training compensation, taxes, how to search for jobs and social security covering for unemployed people. Mainly, I define the business process and integrate it with other software, such as Database and Legacy. Then from Java, we publish microservices or web services for the end-user. The website is mainly… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "The core is very stable."
  • "The documentation needs to be better."

What other advice do I have?

I know the product well, the community has been managing the product for the last 10 years. Because the product comes from Sun Microsystems, it has been given to the community. They have made some improvements during the past years and now the product is lighter, it's very nice. If you're interested in using OpenESB, I would advise you to contact the people of the community because it's a good tool to get information on OpenEBS. They will provide you with tutorials, additional documentation and they reply. So, connect to the community for support because if you try to do it alone, OpenESB can…

Easy to use, performs well, and it's the best platform in terms of speed

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case of this solution is to provide our customers with a faster way to get their data and to connect information between different environments, especially with corporate companies that have different branches in different parts of the country. They need to receive and share information as quickly as possible between the different environments. This is the main way that we identify, in a fast way, to connect with different platforms. It's a platform of interconnectivity that we provide to our clients with this solution. We are specialized in installation and deployment using… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "TIBCO has the platform in terms of speed and ease of use."
  • "In the next release, there should be improvements made to the API manager."

What other advice do I have?

In Latin America, there is a lot of immature environments in terms of connectivity or service-oriented architecture. The wave of technology or the wave of the transformation came from the US and other first-rate countries. Latin Americans adopted technologies. It's not easy to deploy this type of technology quickly. The first challenge is with the consultant and in making the sale by explaining what exactly is the value that you would be getting by staying in a real service-oriented architectural environment. The second is that the corporate companies grow in a Catharsis because the growth of…

Good performance, high-availability features, and provides an easy way to develop integrations

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use for this solution is to integrate different applications into the aviation area. We have an on-premises deployment.

Pros and Cons

  • "From a performance point of view, it's very good and it doesn't need very much in terms of CPU resources."
  • "This product uses the PVU (Processor Value Unit) license model from IBM, and it is something that should be improved."

What other advice do I have?

My advice for anybody implementing this solution for the first time is to have people from IBM on-site to help you establish the operating procedures and the development procedures. My understanding is that the new release will have a lot of new features, including support for Docker containers. At this point, I don't have any requirements for the new release. It has also been rebranded. This is a good solution from a technical and operational point of view, but they should really remove this technically complicated license controlling. It is very complicated software that you have to install…

Good performance, easy to use, and has support for many backend interfaces

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution to assist our customers with their core business challenges. The main purpose of this tool is to connect several applications together. My experience is based on two medium-sized projects that I have completed using this solution. We have an on-premises deployment, as do many SMB in the Middle East.

Pros and Cons

  • "It has many interfaces and you can connect to any backend source that has another format, and convert it to the desired format."
  • "The user interface is designed mainly for experts, much in the way a BPM or another integration tool is."

What other advice do I have?

At this point, I only use twenty to thirty percent of the facilities or services that are offered by this tool. For the main purpose of the suite, I have no specific concerns about it. This is a good product, but there are still some challenges. If I were rating Oracle then I would give it a six out of ten. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
