Flexible API management and analytics that can be built out to fit varied needs

What is our primary use case?

It is a Google cloud solution for API management and analytics.

Pros and Cons

  • "The opportunity for customization is really vast and it is a really good feature built into the product."
  • "It has all the features necessary to work in anything from a basic scenario to advanced applications."
  • "The setup and installation process could be improved with a container-based system."

What other advice do I have?

I would definitely recommend this product over any other products available in the market in this category. It has all the features necessary to work in anything from a basic scenario to advanced applications. So I find that everything in it is flexible and available in this one product. Because of that I highly recommend it to anyone. On a scale of one to ten (where one is the worst and ten is the best), I would rate Apigee around an eight out-of-ten.

Has multifactor authentication and good integration with Active Directory for better security features

Pros and Cons

  • "The integration with Azure Active Directory is a good security feature for authentication and authorization. There is multifactor authentication. You can also use all of the Azure AD features integrated with API Management."
  • "There is always room for improvement. There should be more analytics abilities so you can know how much traffic there is. Log Analyzer isn't well integrated with this solution."

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend doing a combination of AWS API Gateway and Azure API Management. You can authenticate APIs in Azure Active Directory and from there you expose all of your serverless components and use them as a backend with Azure. But it depends on what your use case is. It can be used as a combination or as a standalone. I would rate it an eight out of ten. To make it a ten, there should be better analytics features so we can know how our product is performing.

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for distribution.

What is most valuable?

The technical support and the user interface are good.

What needs improvement?

IBM is also a bit pricey. On top of that, they have bugs that need to be fixed.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for over one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is not scalable.

How are customer service and technical support?

Technical support is okay. I had to call once for billing. We also had a connection issue. They didn't answer very quickly unfortunately.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We didn't…
