What do you think of EMC NetWorker?

Valuable Features: Management GUI Pools to direct backups to storage • Improvements to My Organization: It allows us to not worry about our backups. • Room for Improvement: Some functionality is restricted to Data Domain. • Use of Solution: 21 years. • Stability Issues: No. • Scalability Issues: No. • Customer Service and Technical Support: Excellent. • Initial Setup: The initial setup was complex in 1996, but now our environment is simpler, thus requiring two servers. • Other Advice: If you need to backup multiple OS platforms, this is the product to purchase

Don't be fooled by other organizations' marketing. Do your homework and make sure it suits your needs.

What do you think of Veritas NetBackup?

Primary Use Case: It is for backing up servers. It has performed well. • Improvements to My Organization: It is essential. We can't do without it. • Valuable Features: Its most valuable features are flexibility and reliability. • Room for Improvement: It needs support for Kernel-based Virtual Machines (KVMs). Some of the hardware is out of support.  The product is not able to keep up with other competitors in the market. • Stability Issues: Stability is very good. • Scalability Issues: Scalability is very good. • Customer Service and Technical Support: Their support is pretty good. • Initial Setup: I have been involved in upgrades.
