Reliable email filtering and security that functions and learns at a high level

What is our primary use case?

We use the product for spam filtering and as a second layer of filtering for Office 365. I use it for encrypting emails and monitoring all emails that have sensitive data and policies are applied there as well. In addition to having it as a user portal for spam emails and quarantined emails, users can manage their spam, their quarantined emails, and whether they want an address on the blacklist or the white list. Our security department is responsible for all emails that are quarantined by the system so they are monitored. There is two-way communication — not just one way — and FortiMail is… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "This is a solid email monitoring and security system that learns and maintains a two-way dialog with email system administrators."
  • "The product could be improved by extending reporting tools and adding options for notification."

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I recommend this solution to other people. But in addition, I recommend a few additional steps before just accepting a recommendation. First, they should do a POC (proof of concept). Taking the time to do this is one of the main reasons that will motivate you either to choose a product or not based on actually evaluating if the solution can do what you need it to do. Next, evaluate the reputation. By this, I don't mean to look at what people are saying who are using the product in discussion forums but to take a look at the market itself. You want to see what the company's future is…

A full-featured email gateway that monitors email intelligently to block, isolate and assess traffic

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use for this solution is as a secure email gateway. I just use the blocking feature and spam detection.

Pros and Cons

  • "This excellent email gateway minimizes spam, inspects suspicious emails and isolates infected attachments with little administrative effort."
  • "The product could incorporate even more artificial intelligence to enhance the functionality, but it is a competetive and intelligent product as it."

What other advice do I have?

I recommend this solution to clients and I really love the way that Fortinet thinks about and executes most of their solutions. They maintain a simple graphic user interface and they give you a good view of your network and good visibility. I love the design of FortiGate. They know the protocol, how the protocol is being used and they protect the protocol from other mechanisms. FortiMail is an awesome product mechanically. I think they should have better features in FortiMail to integrate more tightly with Fortinet. It should also have a user awareness mechanism or more artificial…

Easy initial setup, good filtering capabilities and very good technical support

What is our primary use case?

I have deployed the solution to two or three customers. We have deployed hybrid protocol agents for the roaming user, and we did the deployment for the clients using an AWS configuration.

Pros and Cons

  • "The filtering of the solution is very good. You can do URL filtering and, while you need a custom URL to filter under other solutions like Symantec, here the solution covers most categories and the database."
  • "We've fixed a couple of issues on the solution so far. It doesn't work perfectly all the time."

What other advice do I have?

We're Forcepoint partners. We've noticed that many people are leaving Symantec and moving towards Forcepoint. Their service is better and you can get engineers if you have an emergency. With Symantec changing certain policies, a lot of people are leaving. It's one of the reasons we've chosen to got with Forcepoint and doing more business with them. For the URL filtering they provide, I'd rate the solution ten out of ten. The manager requires some improvement, however. We do want a few additional items added to the solution in future releases and have issues surrounding the hybrid agent and…

Good pricing, offers an easy setup, and quite stable

Pros and Cons

  • "The deployment is very easy. It's quite straightforward."
  • "The solution's technical support is slow and unresponsive. You need to book time in order to get support."

What other advice do I have?

We're just customers. We don't have any business relationship with the company. I'm still working with this solution and testing its capabilities. There's still so much to learn about its offerings. On a scale from one to ten, I would rate it at an eight. If they had better deployments for email security, I might rate them higher.

A good all-in-one package with phenomenal anti-phishing capabilities and good support

What is our primary use case?

This is a total email security solution.

Pros and Cons

  • "This product is powerful and quite simple to use."
  • "I would like to have better integration with third-party archival vendors to facilitate moving data in and out."

What other advice do I have?

Overall, this is a good product with wonderful security capabilities and I definitely recommend it. I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.
