A remarkable all-in-one platform with amazing stability and scalability and good technical support

What is our primary use case?

It is used for basic documents. It is like a document manager. I am working with Foundation on EP3. We have clients with on-premises deployments, and we have clients with cloud deployments.

Pros and Cons

  • "OnBase is a remarkable tool. It is a well-done product. Hyland has a lot of experience in building it and looking for new things for clients in terms of functionalities. It has amazing stability, and it can grow horizontally and vertically. It is built for growth. Their technical support is also quite good and available throughout the year."
  • "For user experience, they would have to do more with the interface. It is not easy to work with and is a little messy. It is getting better, but it is not yet good enough. Other products are comparatively doing better in terms of the user interface. I have been hearing about Box, which is very easy to use and learn for the users. OnBase has to work on this aspect. It should have BPM capabilities. We compete with tools that provide the BPM feature and support those standards. They can do better in terms of the pricing model. It is a really expensive tool in Latin America. They should have different prices for different regions."

What other advice do I have?

The best way to get the best out of this solution is by starting small. Start with a single solution, and then increase the complexity. OnBase allows you to start this way, and it is a cheaper, quicker, and the best way to get a good solution at the end. I would rate Hyland OnBase an eight out of ten.

Workflow engines work extremely well to bridge the gaps of processes within our core systems

What is our primary use case?

I work for the largest distributor of Toyota Lexus in the Middle East. My area is related to car motors. I'm an IT senior general manager and we are customers of Appian.

Pros and Cons

  • "Good workflow engines that bridge the gaps of processes."
  • "Lacks integration with other products."

What other advice do I have?

The product needs to be supported by top management for it to work. This is one of the things that we faced at the very beginning. Second, from a technical point of view, you need to have a dedicated team taking care of this from a product management point of view, not necessarily from a technical point of view because that can be outsourced. I recommend not doing the development in-house, rather to outsource it with one or two partners and the corporate team. I recommend going for the full cloud-based solution architecture rather than having part of it inside and part of it outside. If thereā€¦

Constructs the system based on all the requirements of your business

What is our primary use case?

This solution is deployed on-premises as well as on the customers' cloud environment. Its primary use depends on the business requirement. Newgen will structure the system based on all the requirements of the business. For example, we work in the finance domain and it helps with the banking process.

Pros and Cons

  • "Newgen will structure the system based on all the requirements of the business. We can design the forms as complex forms or make our own versions to fix what's wrong."
  • "In terms of stability, like every product it has its issues."

What other advice do I have?

On a scale of 1 - 10, I give Newgen OmniFlow an eight. I have six years experience in Newgen and we have implemented our own Newgen now with 2,000 to 3,000 implementations since then. We have a huge customer satisfaction rate because we try to accommodate all the requirements of their business. We cannot say, "No, it's not feasible," because everything is feasible from the Newgen BPM.
