An easy initial setup, good pricing and very stable

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution as a tool to do the deployment for the reports. While we deal mostly with banks, who do not need complex analytics (their reports are largely static). It's useful for telecoms or other sectors that need to monitor daily trends. However, once designed, the banks can use the same report on a daily basis to see their somewhat static results quite easily.

Pros and Cons

  • "The solution offers very good integration capabilities."
  • "There should be some kind of enhancement that can be done on the admin side of certain sites where we can assign the roles and responsibilities. We should be able to control who is using the tool and how."

What other advice do I have?

We are already an SAP gold partner. We have a significant level of partnership with SAP. We also used to do the reports for SAP. This is the only tool that we suggest to our clients and we do the implementation for banks in the Middle East. Nearly all customers have the same tool that we use. We are one of the leading banking software providers in the region. We do not work with the cloud. We do local installations only. We don't use anything on the cloud because banks normally have policies in place where they cannot share with the cloud for security and risk aversion reasons. It is one of…

A user-friendly, platform-independent solution for data integration and process automation

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution for data integration, especially in our big data projects. For the past year, we have also been using Talend Open Studio for process automation. Some of the operations done by human beings are now automated. We also deliver this solution to our customers. Currently, all of the solutions that we deliver to our customers are on-premises.

Pros and Cons

  • "A helpful feature for us is the integration with NoSQL databases."
  • "The price for Talend Data Integration should be less expensive."

What other advice do I have?

We are totally satisfied with this product. We have not found any problems. It is an open-source, platform-independent, and pretty stable. My only complaint is that the commercial version is very expensive. There are some limits, but the commercial version is unlimited. I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.

Easy to use and powerful solution for managing historical data

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case of this solution is data integration and managing historical data.

Pros and Cons

  • "I think Talend is one of the easiest tools for faster implementation compared to other tools."
  • "The stability is good, but the performance is slower when I work on a huge amount of data."

What other advice do I have?

I think Talend is one of the easiest tools for faster implementation compared to other tools. For example, if we're implementing the data integration solution with some other tool, it will take 10 days. But with Talend, it will take less than 50% of the time. So the tool is very easy, the interface is user-friendly for the developer and suitable for the development of the solution. That is one of the key benefits of Talend. I recommended Talend for two of my four customers during the last four years. I replaced the Oracle Data Integrator and IBM with Talend. My rating for this solution is…

Good user interface and the most user-friendly of all data integration tools

Pros and Cons

  • "Technical support is great. It's one of the reasons we really like them. When you compare support from IBM and support from Informatica, Informatica is much better."
  • "Now they are migrating to a new version, and they have something that is called Informatica Developer. Previously, they just had PowerCenter. Now, when they move everything to Informatica Developer it's not as good or stable like it was when it was PowerCenter, though it has some nice features. This Developer tool could be better."

What other advice do I have?

We have some projects on call. I work for a professional services company, so we have different clients that have different types of infrastructure. For us in our region, most of the clients have an on-premise infrastructure. Usually, we have on-premise deployments. I would recommend this solution to others. I would rate this solution nine out of ten. It's almost perfect.

Has the potential to expand so that you can immediately write code onto the SQL server

What is our primary use case?

I'm using the solution primarily for e-memory and e-database calculation, mostly data blending (ETL) and massive table joining, etc. I also use it for data preparation and modeling.

Pros and Cons

  • "With this solution, there is the potential to expand, so that you can immediately write code onto the SQL server."
  • "The solution should work on the GPU, graphical processing unit. There should also be piping integration available."

What other advice do I have?

I use the private cloud as well as the on-premises version of the solution. I would rate this solution eight out of ten. I would rate it higher if the solution offered full automation AI for database managing, setup and management, and scaling of the solution.
