What is most valuable?

The interface is very user-friendly. The solution's API and integration are very important to us. We most often use the ETL features, and then export to, for example, chart files. We also use functions related to connectors, for example… more»

How has it helped my organization?

This product is going to replace any engagement with human beings. For example, we have integrated with several systems but we do not do the integration manually. Another example is that we track lots of servers and our scheduled workflow… more»

What needs improvement?

The price for Talend Data Integration should be less expensive.

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We use different solutions depending on the needs of the customer, including budgetary considerations. We try to use Talend as much as possible but there are some cases where it does not fit. For example, we cannot provide a solution with… more»

What other advice do I have?

We are totally satisfied with this product. We have not found any problems. It is an open-source, platform-independent, and pretty stable. My only complaint is that the commercial version is very expensive. There are some limits, but the… more»

What is most valuable?

It is a very powerful solution to manage historical data and this is one of the key features that I love the most.

What needs improvement?

An area that needs improvement is the administration of data and granting permission for the different developers working on the product at the same time. Talend is a great development tool but the administration, access rights, synchronization and phoning can be better. New features I would like to… more»

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

I used Oracle Data Integrator and IBM but I replaced it with Talend. I like that Talend is straightforward. By using Talend we can simulate the theoretical information with the practical exercise.

What other advice do I have?

I think Talend is one of the easiest tools for faster implementation compared to other tools. For example, if we're implementing the data integration solution with some other tool, it will take 10 days. But with Talend, it will take less than 50% of the time. So the tool is very easy, the interface… more»

What is most valuable?

With this solution, there is the potential to expand so that you can immediately write code onto the SQL server. Auto-parallelization is also critical for us. It decides automatically how many parallel sessions you have to run to get your query handled. You don't need to take care of any code, which… more»

What needs improvement?

The solution should work on the GPU, graphical processing unit. There should also be a piping integration available. The design of the dashboard isn't great, visually, but the solution works, so this isn't so important to me. SSIS's competitor, Autonomous Database by Oracle, offers you, depending on… more»

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We previously used Oracle as an integration tool, but it's much more expensive than Microsoft.

What other advice do I have?

I use the private cloud as well as the on-premises version of the solution. I would rate this solution eight out of ten. I would rate it higher if the solution offered full automation AI for database managing, setup and management, and scaling of the solution.

What is most valuable?

The solution has the best user interface and it's the most user-friendly of all data integration tools.

What needs improvement?

Now they are migrating to a new version, and they have something that is called Informatica Developer. Previously, they just had PowerCenter. Now, when they move everything to Informatica Developer it's not as good or stable like it was… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Price-wise, it's more expensive than SSIS, but it's a better tool, so it has more features. Licensing is on a yearly basis.

What other advice do I have?

We have some projects on call. I work for a professional services company, so we have different clients that have different types of infrastructure. For us in our region, most of the clients have an on-premise infrastructure. Usually, we… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked at IBM DataStage, Microsoft SSIS, and Oracle Data Integrator.

What is most valuable?

The synchronization, data backup, and data transfer are all valuable features of the solution. The core features of the solution we like are the reliability of the data transfer and the accuracy of data read and write. The stability of the solution is also excellent.

What needs improvement?

The reporting features need improvement. It would be very good for users to have a clear understanding of the status of replication. In the next release, they should add support for integrations between databases to be increased. Currently, you can only transfer between Oracle and SQL, SQL and Oracle. If this was developed more, it would be very, very good.

What other advice do I have?

We are using the on-premises deployment model. I would advise others that they have the ability to get a lot out of the solution. It has a lot of potential for deployment. You can use it for reporting, for data recovery, for backup, for replication, for updates, and for migration. It can be very useful for many applications. I would rate the solution 9.5 out of ten. It's even better than the… more»
