Veeam Backup & Replication Valuable Features

Sanjeev Roy

We evaluated different options and we picked the most significant one, Veeam. The main features about the Veeam Backup & Replication suite I like are: * If a Veeam image is copied to a replication machine, then Veeam automatically checks to see if ransomware attacked or not. * Veeam will automatically check if a file is corrupt or not. If a file is corrupt, then it will not make a backup copy to the replication server. That means the corrupt file is not copied to replication. * We have confidence that our replication image is good and not corrupted as VM machines. These are the significant features and there are a lot of features with Veeam. You need to first check out the Veeam website. View full review »

We migrated our servers from physical to virtual with our B2B platform. We had a big problem when trying to transfer our site server that was about six terabytes to the new environments. We wanted to do it with minimal effort and without changing the permission because if we do a copy, the permissions won't work. We put a Veeam Windows agent on these physical servers, did a backup and then we were able to take this backup as a drive that is connected to the new VM environment. It has helped us transfer the solution in two days instead of working for a minimum of one week to ten days. View full review »

Granular permissions through Veeam Enterprise Manager have allowed for us to pass control down to our support staff instead of having it with senior datacenter resources. Vendor integration for many of the enterprise features have allowed for us to have greater performance from our storage vendors further improving on our commitments to protect our clients' data. Veeam replication gives migration tools/options for VMware, which is nice. I also enjoy the ability to quickly search for VMs through the Veeam console. View full review »

The whole replication aspect of the solution is excellent because it compresses the data so well. The way you get everything on one pane and see the whole environment because you're top is one of the reasons I really like Nutanix. View full review »
